TRENDING - TRENDING - TRENDING !

Leather/PU shorts and skirts are making a complete hit in the fashion world and are completely out of control this year and totally trending! Hence, make sure to quickly snatch a pair up, whether they be in white, black, silver, gold, asymmetrical, quilted or mesh layered! All is good and super versatile for any body type and any season!

Below i took a few quick snaps of some outfits i paired together featuring some white and black leather shorts i bought off of eBay for under $10 AUD! If you want a bargain, grab it off of their! I am yet to buy an asymmetrically-cut skirt, but i soon shall and i strongly recommend you do too if you just love the style or indeed the trends!

'White Luxe' features on-point trends; boxy crop tops, holographic purses/bags, chunky sandals, and of course leather shorts!

Top - Topshop
Shorts - eBay
Purse - ASOS
Shoes - Windsor Smith

The second outfit, 'Street Style' is more casual and edgy, good for a casual coffee date with friends in the evening

Top - Bardot
Black leather Shorts - eBay
Shoes - Timberlands

(LOL my backyard...)

Delicate rings are also super cute this year and have been a hit for the past few months. As well as a nice pair of shades and purse, mine are both from Nastygal.com!

I am loving mesh and so is the fashion world, so i suggest investing in a mesh, cutout type top similar to the one I am wearing, paired with a bright, provocatively coloured bra, HAHA

Mesh Top - Bardot
Black Leather Shorts - eBay
Shoes - Windsor Smith
Purse - ASOS
iPad Mini

I hope i helped in the slightest way in assisting in future investments if you're into fashion and trends, so stay tuned for future articles,

 your friend,

Christine

Dressing For Your Age

With so many fashion icons and different trends around the world at the moment, it's hard to know what's classified as "in or out" these days. Many of us are that that sort of time where we are transitioning from young teens clothes into more sophisticated or sheek looks. But it's sometimes hard to know whether what you're wearing is too old or too young for you. So here are some outfits i have put together to help you out. I'll explain the type of style they are then talk about the pieces one by one that i have put together.

First off we have a more older and chic type look. This outfit features a lot of dark colours which can be hard to pull off sometimes.

1. Zebra Bomber Jacket (buy here)

This jacket is one of the main pieces of the outfit. It could easily be dressed up like in this picture here or worn more casually with shorts and a plain top. The rise of bomber jackets continues to grow, with grunge inspired check and baroque patterns being right on trend.

2. Black Cropped Trousers (buy here)
Cropped trousers may seem difficult to wear, but they can actually be worn for virtually any occasion throughout the year. They can easily be dressed down with simple sandals in the summer, or worn with loafers and a jacket in the winter.

3. Black Tee (buy here)
Instead of wearing a plain black tee in this outfit, it's nice to spice it up a little bit with some bold white writing. It could easily be worn tucked in for a more chic look or out loose for a more casual approach.

4. Black Loafers (buy here)

These shoes are quite simple which allows for more attention to be paid to other details of the outfit. When loafers started showing up in shoe stores, I was first a bit skeptical but after seeing the likes of Jessica Alba, Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson and Miranda Kerr wearing them i was instantly attached.

5. Accessories
The bracelets (buy here)
add a little quirk to the outfit and look super chic.

Mac lipstick (buy here) goes very well with black/dark outfits. If you have quite fair skin then i recommend going for a more lighter purple or if you have more darker/tanned skin go for a nice dark colour.

The black nail polish (buy here) looks awesome on anyone and really just polishes off the whole look.

This second outfit is more casual and features a denim pinafore which we can all remember from our childhood years. Emma Roberts here is rockin this outfit and i love it.

1. Denim Pinafore (buy here)
The denim pinafore is a great item to style in many different ways. The dress itself is a simple base of the outfit but it is what you wear underneath which really makes it. You can dress it down with some oversized sneakers and a cropped varsity top (see here) or make it look a bit more grungy by styling with some black lace ups, a simple black singlet underneath, plaid shirt and knee high black socks (see here).

2. White Cropped Top (buy here)
Simple essential that is needed in every girls wardrobe.

3. Black Ankle Boots with Tassles (buy here)
If your willing to splurge a bit or you're looking for something to spend that extra christmas money on, these are the boots. They are so gorgeous and super comfy!!!

3. Accessories
For the bag i decided to choose something a little more younger to suit the outfit so i choose this uber cute tote bag (buy here) which is super eco-friendly and very handy! You could use it at the markets, when shopping or for taking your books around school.

The bracelets (buy here and here) are super funky but if you don't want to go out and by one, then check out Hettie's diy heart bracelet for a cute wee splash to your outfit.

And finally the sunglasses (buy here). A quick tip for cat eye sunglasses; if you have a longer face go for wider frames, round and square faces suit narrow frames best and diamond faces should choose frames with detailing or accents on the top.

How To Dress Like Alexa Chung For Under 80 Pounds

Since this is our very first issue, I thought I would add a little extra something for all you Alexa Chung fans out there. I basically fell in love with the outfit she is wearing below and decided that I would find a more affordable version for you that won't cost 6 legs and an arm.
 1. Cream Jumper £9 (buy here)
A comfy jumper is an essential for your wardrobe and this one is just perfect! Textured jumpers are a must have this season and the necklace trim style is ideal for taking a smarter approach to the trend. For a more casual look, pair with rolled up boyfriend jeans and loafers.

2. Black Leather Look Skirt £15 (buy here)

Perfect for summer with a grey t-shirt tucked in and black loafers or dressed up for winter like Alexa has with a warm jumper, ankle boots and knee high socks for a warmer outfit.

3. Chelsea Boots £25 (buy here)
The ultimate must have for everyone! Can be worn with absolutely everything and anything. From simple black to bold brights with chunky wedge soles, chelsea boots are shoes trending all over the world as seen on celebs such as Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Kylie Jenner.

4. Heart Satchel £29 (buy here)
This satchel is super super adorable! With adjustable straps and twin tassels on the front, it is just an amazing looking bag. It's not overly large but can still fit a fair amount in it. Definitely on my wishlist.

5. White Bralette £5.26 (buy here)
After seeing bralettes all over instagram and tumblr i decided i would try one out. They are super cheap, super cute and super comfy. With no wires or clasps they fit snuggly across your chest without anything poking into you. They give support and come in tons of sizes. I highly recommend them as i have never ever been uncomfortable in one yet.

So, that's the end of this! Hope you had fun reading and found some good ideas or inspiration for your self!

Stay Stylish,
Olivia

Tween "Love"

February reminds me of my love life. Which nobody has been part of. I’ve never had a boyfriend, someone to cuddle, kiss, make mixtapes for and all the other stuff couples do. (And I don't even care)
I am that girl that falls in love or likes someone very easily. Admires her crush from a far and never even tries to approach him. Just because, I don’t really expect someone to like me back. And HOW DO YOU EVEN APPROACH THE BOY YOU LIKE, that’s my #1 life problem.

In 7th grade someone did like me, and I kinda liked him back. He wanted to be my boyfriend. But I was 12, and I wasn't ready for it. Neither did I believe in tween love relationships, I thought they were stupid because they usually only lasted for 1 week.

So in 7th grade when that boy messaged me and told me he liked me I freaked out. I didn't know what to do, I tried to ignore it but it kept occupying and haunting my thoughts.
When I had to go back to school, I couldn't even look him into the eye. I wanted to hide and avoid the whole situation, but I knew that wouldn't be the right thing to do. So one day I clustered my courage together and decided to message him back. It went like "I like you, but I don't want to be in a relationship or something like that, sorry".
That were my thoughts on it and I guess I wanted him to know. I was twelve... I didn't know what to do.
We kept talking to each other (in a very awkward way) and we actually kinda became friends. He told me he loved me and I usually said I loved him back, but I liked him. I didn't know there was a  big difference between like and love at that time. They are two complete different things
This went on for a month. He ditched me a few times in the meantime and then came back to apologize for hurting me.  I guess he got sick and tired for apologizing and feeling sorry so after a while he ran off with his ex-girlfriend without any explanation. They’re still together by the way. I cried for like weeks because I thought that I screwed up, and nobody would ever like me again.

I don’t regret saying I wasn't ready to have a boyfriend. I’m actually glad I did… he isn’t even that cute, nice, or all the things I thought he was. My first boyfriend still has to come along and I believe it will be someone better than this guy. Some people find it weird that I'm 14 and never had a boyfriend and it pisses me off. Everyone should take their time, and find someone they really like. There isn't an age you have to had your first boyfriend/girlfriend by. If you're young, ready and you feel good about it go for it! If you're 21 and you're worrying about being single, don't. Your boy or girl will come along and just enjoy your single (less drama) life!

This weird story of mine has actually made me wiser and stronger for some weird reason. When someone breaks up with you or doesn't like you back, breathe, everything will be all right. The 12 year old me thought I would never get over it but look at me now, OMG, I'm fine! Now I know better, and I feel more confident about the whole relationship thing. I missed out on a boy, so what? There are plenty of fish in the sea.

Stay weird, Quirine.

Teen Love playlist

There are plenty of birds in the sky as there are fish in the sea
TEEN Love playlist
1. The curse of being young - Hunx and his Punks
2. We're going to be friends - First Aid Kit
3. International language of love - Turbo Fruits
4. Crush - Jacuzzi Boys
5. Spin the bottle - The King Khan & BBQ Show
6. You're supposed to be my friend - 1990s
7. Lust for life - Girls
8. True love will find you in the end - Mates of States
9. You won't be missing that part of me - Melody's Echo Chamber
10. Waterfall - Wendy & Lisa

Teen love is love between two teenagers, pretty obvious, and it's a bit more complicated than adults think. The awkwardness, shyness, "friend zoning" and the multiple heart breaks the teenage heart has to go through is all part of it. This playlist is a roller coaster through a teen love relationship.

Quirine

Film Review: Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging

   Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.

By Louisa Edwards

As many of you are probably aware this months theme is "growing up" and boy do I have the perfect film to review, yes you guessed it, Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging, this British coming-of-age film is ideal for a girls night in.
Fourteen year old Georgia Nicolson (played by Georgia Groome) is portrayed as a 'typical teenage girl' who goes through problems that everyone of us has had to deal with at one point in our life e.g friend drama, bitchy girls, body insecurities and of course boy problems! Add the stress of having to plan a sweet 15 that's better than your rivals sure does make an interesting and hilarious movie!

Another factor that makes the film a thousand times better is seeing Robbie, played by the beautiful Aaron Johnson, topless, yes ladies topless! At the beginning of the movie Robbie doesn't see Georgia as potential girlfriend material, but by the end their friendship had blossomed into a relationship. This doesn't mean they didn't have their bumps along the road, no thanks to Dave 'the laugh', granny pants, Slutty Linsey and the threat of moving half way across the world for the sake of her fathers job.

Even though I have much love for this film, that doesn't mean that that there isn't any 'cringe' moments because believe me, there's a few. Some of these moments include the frequent use of fake teen slang including 'boy lingual', 'nunga nungas' and the quote "Beyond the valley of sad city" which I will admit I have used on a number of occasions, don't judge!

I give Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging:

4/5 STARS

Coming-of-age film recommendations from the TUGG Staff:

  • Mean Girls - Hettie
  • The Breakfast Club - Quirine
  • Pretty In Pink - Ana
  • 16 Candles - Catrina
  • Perks of Being a Wallflower - Sophie
  • The Virgin Suicides - Me

How To Style: Bralettes

By Louisa Edwards

Back in 2013 bralettes were all the rage and I totally see why! So I created 4 individual outfits based around bralettes, anyway, enjoy!

Look 1: For this look I chose a sunflower print bralette (£18/$30) that is less revealing of the four so there's no need to worry about anything slipping out (if you get what I mean). For the bottoms I chose vintage, high waisted denim shorts that balance out the outfit because of the loose fitting style. To finish off the look I paired it all with black high top converse and a black roller bowler hat from TopShop.

Look 2: For this look I chose a white, retro lace bralette, (£16/$27) the beautiful detailing adds texture to the outfit. For the bottoms I chose a denim skater skirt from Zara, the deep blue denim really makes the outfit pop.

Look 3: For this look I chose a leather bralette by Alexander Wang (£288 £86) absolute barging! I decided to match leather on leather with this fabulous Alexander Wang miniskirt that's unfortunately  more on the pricey side. The boots are by Jeffery Campbell (£105/$175) and are defiantly worth the price from what Iv been told! For accessories I chose big pre-owned Chanel clip on earrings (£300/$499) and Céline sunglasses (£325/$533) Trust me I know 99.9% of us can't afford to spend £300+ on a pair of sunglasses but TopShop have a wide variety of sunglasses that are just as amazing!

Look 4: For this look I chose a black lace bralette that I absolutely adore! For bottoms I chose dark wash, high waisted denim shorts from River Island (£30) that seem to be dupes of the American Apparel ones, but hey, there just as cute! For a more 'covered up' look I picked a black pleather bomber jacket that I need in my life, but at £360/$594 it will just have to wait. To top off the look I chose Céline Aubrey sunglasses (£300/$497) and Office Brazen Buckle boots (£95) that are also on my wish list.

-Remember these looks are only meant for inspiration and are here to be adapted and changed to fit your style!

Make sure to comment which set you like most!

Things We Love: The No Stress Basics

by Ana Bilokin

Sometimes there's so much to think and worry about, especially in our hectic teen lives, that you need to go back to the basics. Here are a few things I know I can count on to look good, feel good or both.

1.  The Mask of Magnaminty from Lushis a skin savior. First off, I love how the company is against animal testing and uses natural ingredients, I feel good about what I’m putting on my face. The mask itself is perfect as an immediate solution for extra oil on my face, as well as a long-term (weekly) addition to my skincare routine for overall better skin. Not to mention the mint feels so refreshing on my face and face masks are the perfect thing for when you need to pamper yourself!

2. I would definitely recommend “It” by Alexa Chung for anyone who loves fashion or is looking for an easy read on a night in or on the go. Alexa is a style inspiration for many, and it’s fascinating reading about who inspired her. The book is pretty to look at too, full of various photographs and Alexa’s adorable sketches.

3. Boyfriend jeans (I recommend getting vintage ones, so no link for these) are a wardrobe staple all year round. They’re both stylish and comfy, can be dressed up or down, be incorporated into many different styles from grunge to girly, and can have various amounts of holes, depending on the season! There’s nothing not to love.

4. Chelsea boots are like boyfriend jeans for your feet: versatile, comfy and stylish… Except they don’t come with holes in them already, those come from wearing them too much because they look cute with every outfit!

5. I don’t wear much makeup every day, usually just BB cream and mascara, so I was hesitant in buying a whole eyeshadow palette, but I’m so glad I did! The Naked Basics Palette from Urban Decay is such a good contribution to my everyday look. It has every colour I need to enhance my makeup while still looking natural. I love the fact that it’s matte and that there are just enough colours to do either daytime or nighttime looks without being overwhelming. I would definitely recommend this palette anyone who looking for a simple basic palette.

6. Polaroid cameras are great for instantly capturing amazing moments, and the photos they take are so perfect for hanging on a bulletin board or hanging an your room. (DIY: punch holes in the top and bottom of each photo and tie strings in between for a memory mobile that can be hung from the ceiling or wall.) The only downfall of these cameras is the cost of film, so make sure to save it for the most special occasions!

7. My nails are always painted. And half the time it’s the Essie colour “Pink Diamond.” It’s a go-to colour for a neutral and quick manicure. It’s forgiving if done quickly and the shimmer in it makes your nails feel special even on the most boring of occasions. Plus I love how easy it is to paint with all Essie polishes.

Still stressed? Drink chamomile tea and listen to Bright Eyes and I promise you'll be dandy.
(My favourite song is Landlocked Blues at 31:19)

Happy Valentine's Day! (Singles Edition)

It’s that time of year again, where a cheesy couple appears on every corner and every kiss makes you want to vomit. Being single probably sounds like the worst especially on V-day but good news! There are so many other ways to spice up your day, whether you want to stay at home or party out. You don't have to be dating anyone to enjoy the holiday; here are some ideas on what you can do to treat yourself (because you deserve it, bbg)!

1.      Movie night with the gang.
Invite some close friends and have a ‘potluck’ by having each friend bring different snacks and drinks. Set up a bunch of pillows and blankets and watch some non-romantic movies, preferably horror, thriller, action or older movies from the 1900’s. Watching your favourite YouTube videos and childhood shows/movies are also an option.

2.      Pamper yourself I.
Clear up a space in your bedroom – or living room/basement if you’re going to be home alone – and set out some warm blankets and pillows, candles, some magazines and maybe a few healthy snacks to fully cleanse your system. Play your favourite chill out or party music, grab a book or find a movie to watch. Find your inner self and just relax!

3.      Pamper yourself II.
Have a nice bubble bath! Bring a plank of wood or anything that can balance stably on your bathtub and bring a book or magazine, a candle, put on some relaxing music and fill the room with warm scents.

4.      Dress up.
Dress up in fancy clothes or go out of your comfort zone with anything you’d like and go out! Some options are movie theatres, cafes, fancy restaurants or even a fast food restaurant. Who cares if you silly? That`s the point! This is a special day and people should stare!

5.      Explore your town/city.
Pick up a camera and wear comfy shoes because you can explore your city. There are so many places that you can discover that you’d never know of, like vintage shops, cafes, organic shops, antique stores, forests – just about anything! After that, you’ll have a bunch of places you can go to for future meet ups.

6.      Secret valentine.
It’s exactly how it sounds like! Much like secret Santa, get a group of friends and pick names from a hat. From there, either write pick-up lines or sneak them into your Valentine’s bag or pencil case, or make a V-Day card and get each other cute secret admirer gifts.

Well, there you have it! Be creative and have fun while you`re still free! ;)

6 Going On 16

by Matéa LeBeau

Growing up is annoying.

Drama, puberty, teen angst, love, hate, you know the drill. Remember the days of wishing you could just grow up already and be an adult? The thought of cars, high heels, pearls, going out with your friends and all that stuff was so amazing...
Don’t get me wrong, there are definite perks being older! You do get to go to cool places with your friends. You do get to drive a car. You do get to be the person you’ve always dreamed of being. In fact one of my favorite things ever is going out with my friends on Saturday morning for scones and coffee. Literally heaven. And all of the clothing that comes with being older? Pretty amazing.
But let’s not lie and say you don’t miss being 6 year old you with pig tails, missing teeth, little girl clothes, cute dresses and reoccurring scrapes on your knees. Those were the days.

So this month, I thought I’d give you a bit of insight on some “little girl” attire that you can still look rad in as a teen, and some tunes I'm sure you'll love ☼

aline green and blue gingham dress! loveee

-I forget the price:) –Salvation Army (or as I call it, Salvation Armani).

(did I mention the lime green buttons? ♥)

thigh/knee high socks are essential in the little girl look,
and hello kitty anything makes it all the more adorable!

close up on the pattern:)

plaid anything is another essential! even if you're not going
for the little girl look–– half of my closet is plaid.

-Coincidence & Chance collared plaid baby doll dress – 59 USD – Urban Outfitters

(I bought it on sale for 30 USD)

mary jane shoes are literally my life, and they're extremely cute!

-brown leather vintage mary jane docs – 28 USD – Wasteland (score!!)
-black mary jane docs – 100 USD – Dr Martens store

socks are my other obsession–– the bolder the better!
frilly socks really bring out the little girl in you:)

-frilly socks – 6 USD – Topshop
-space socks – 8 USD – Urban Outfitters
-ninja turtle socks – 8 USD – Urban Outfitters
-candy heart socks – 8 USD – Urban Outfitters
(if you buy 3 pairs of socks at UO you get a special deal:) )
(black thigh high socks – totally forget where I got them haha)

trust me, pony tails are still the bomb.

pleated skirts are really adorable, too! they totally remind me
of the whole school girl look:)

-pleated black tennis skirt – 54 USD – American Apparel

recently got this gently used Coach backpack purse
on eBay for around 50 USD!  I believe the retail is around 250 USD.
honestly though, mini backpacks are the cutest! x (and one of my many obsessions)

What am I saying in this article? I'm saying that it's extremely easy to look adorable and wear "little girl" clothes while looking fab. So go thrifting, get cute-as-shit clothing and be the ultimate babe I know you are. ♡☆

A little mix I made for you guys :)

xx, Matéa
